Candidates + Issues Forum 2010

The Pepper Pike Civic League’s Candidates and Issues Forum held on September 28, 2010 was very well attended by both citizens and representatives. The League had invited candidates for the US Senate and House of Representatives, all State of Ohio races, as well as Cuyahoga County Executive and Council. The Orange Recreation levy renewal ballot issue was also represented.

Each speaker had the opportunity to present his/her platform, followed by a group question and answer session.

The Orange Recreation renewal levy was passionately supported by Ms. Karin Erlenbach of the Orange School District. US Senate candidate Rob Portman was represented by a local staff manager. Governor Strickland’s representative was Ann Hill, his regional campaign manager. Three candidates for the Ohio House, Marlene Anielski, David Macko, and Kelli Perk participated. A representative for State Treasurer candidate, Kevin Boyce also spoke. Cuyahoga County Council, District 6 candidates….Jack Schron and Rick Taft…presented their positions, as did Matt Dolan, a candidate for County Executive.
As the Civic League’s mandate is to foster non-partisan communication between our government and our residents, the lively and informative interaction between the candidates, as well as between the candidates and the citizen attendees, was appreciated by all.
